On Thursday, April 1, 2010, 10:00 AM, a federal Grand Jury found Rafic Labboun to be guilty of seven counts of bank fraud. According to court testimonies, Saba Mosque's former full-time imam (and subsequently visiting imam) ran a complex international bust-out scheme using his credit cards and bad checks.

Judge Ronald M. Whyte sentenced Rafic Labboun to 27 months of imprisonment in a Federal jail followed by three years of probation. Judge Whyte also ordered the convicted felon to pay $102,000.00 in restitutions to the financial institutions which he had defrauded.
