Alipur: A shining light in Karnataka
- Main article: Alipur: A Mini Iran in Karnataka
There is something very profound about this Indian rural hamlet that transcends its size and distant location that no Shiite, devout or secular, can fail to notice. If you are a Muwali (Arabic for loyalist [to the Family of Muhammad, PBUH&T]. Arabic: موالي), can you recognize it? The tiny village is named after Amir al-Momineen (Arabic for Commander of the Faithfuls. Arabic: أمير المؤمنين، عليه السلام), Ali ibn Abi Taleb, Peace be upon him and his family (اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد)! In spite of the shortcomings and sinfulness of its inhabitants (Islam considers humanity to be in a continuous state of sin while God is in a constant state of mercy and forgiveness), it is not too much at all to think that Alipur is a beautiful shining light in the darkness of Karnataka!
اللهم صل على محمد وآل محمد

Nabi Raza Mir (a.k.a. maulana Nabi Raza Abidi) was born in this village on July 1, 1971.
